At RootRise Technologies, privacy is a fundamental right. This privacy policy applies to MergePDF on all platforms (macOS, Windows).

MergePDF is a standalone application that runs natively on your device. Unlike cloud-based alternatives:

• Core features do NOT require an internet connection — internet is used only when validating in-app purchases
• Your files and documents are NOT uploaded to any server
• No third-party applications or plugins are installed on your device
• Your individual usage and activity are NOT tracked
• Your processed files are NOT stored in any cloud service
• All file processing runs locally on your device
• Qonversion SDK is integrated for in-app purchase and subscription validation on macOS only — the Windows version uses Microsoft Store purchase validation directly

2. Information We Collect

Local File Processing

When you use MergePDF, you select files on your device. All processing happens on your computer or mobile device. Processed files remain under your control and are never uploaded to our servers.

Operating System Interaction

The app accesses only the files you explicitly open or save, and operates within the platform's sandbox and privacy controls.

In-App Purchase Data (Qonversion SDK — macOS only)

When you make an in-app purchase or restore a subscription on macOS, MergePDF uses the Qonversion SDK to validate your purchase with the app store. Qonversion may process your purchase receipt, subscription status, device identifier, app version, and country or region. This data is used solely to verify your entitlement — Qonversion has no access to your files or any content you process with this app. The Windows version processes purchases directly through the Microsoft Store without involving Qonversion.

What RootRise Never Collects

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your IP address or precise location
• Device serial numbers or permanent identifiers
• Your file contents or processed documents
• Individual behavioral tracking or usage analytics
• Browser cookies or advertising identifiers

3. How We Use Information

Local Processing

File data is used only to perform the function you requested and save results to your device. It is never used for any other purpose.

Purchase Validation

Data processed by Qonversion is used solely to verify your subscription entitlement and unlock the features you purchased. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond confirming your purchase.

We Will Never

• Share your information with advertisers or data brokers
• Sell your personal data
• Use your data for advertising or retargeting
• Build a behavioral profile about you

4. Your Choices and Control

Subscription Management

You can manage, pause, or cancel subscriptions directly from the App Store or Microsoft Store using your Apple ID or Microsoft Account. Contact support@rootrisetech.com if you need help with subscription records.

File Access Control

You control which files MergePDF can see. Files are added only when you explicitly open or import them — the app never scans your device or accesses files without your action. You can remove any file from the app's list at any time; removing it from the list does not delete the original file from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

MergePDF uses the following third-party service. No advertising networks, tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics are used.

Qonversion — In-App Purchase Validation (macOS only)

Qonversion (qonversion.io) manages in-app purchase validation and subscription entitlements on macOS. When you buy or restore a subscription, Qonversion processes your purchase receipt and subscription status. Qonversion has no access to your files or any content you process with this app.

RootRise does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in privacy laws, app features, or third-party services. Updates are posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of MergePDF after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
