MergePDF

MergePDF

Secure, Fast, and Seamless Batch PDF Merging.

4.9

MergePDF turns hours of manual PDF collation into a simple drag-and-drop task. Built natively for macOS and Windows, its high-fidelity merging engine consolidates documents while perfectly preserving internal structure — active hyperlinks, nested bookmarks, form fields, fonts, and colour profiles all remain intact. Everything runs entirely offline, with no cloud upload and no Acrobat required.

Key Features

High-Volume Batch Merging

Combine multiple PDF files into a single unified document in seconds. Add files via drag and drop, Finder's Open With, or direct folder selection — with recursive subfolder scanning supported.

Alternate Page Merge

Interleave pages from two PDF documents in alternating sequence — ideal for combining front and back scans of double-sided documents into a single correctly ordered PDF.

Preserve Document Integrity

Merging preserves the exact PDF contents — structure, colour profiles, fonts, active hyperlinks, nested bookmarks, and form fields — without any loss of document fidelity.

Smart Bookmark Merging

Group and merge PDF outlines (bookmarks) from all source documents into a single organised outline in the merged output — maintaining full navigability across the combined file.

Page Rotation

Rotate all pages of any PDF file in the merge queue before combining — correcting orientation issues across source documents without a separate editing step.

AES-256 Encryption

Protect the merged PDF with open and permission passwords. Restrict printing, editing, and content copying with RC4-128, AES-128, or AES-256 encryption applied at export.

PDF Initial View & UI Options

Set exactly how recipients see the merged PDF on open — navigation panel, page layout, magnification level, full screen mode, and which UI elements are visible or hidden.

Metadata Editing

Set or modify Title, Author, Subject, and Keywords on the merged PDF output — keeping your document library consistently organised and searchable.

Standalone & Fully Private

No Adobe Acrobat, internet connection, or cloud service required. All merging runs natively on your Mac or Windows PC — your documents never leave your device.

So easy to use

Using this program is a breeze! It has all the option you would need to combine the files and order the correctly, saves me so much time! I am using a software that is only able to export PDFs page by page and was struggling to find a replacemnet of the tedious and expensivr acrobat reader. I am glad I found this one, also use it in combination with PDF Optim for compressing the individial files. Keep up the good work!

It did what Acrobat Pro could not

I needed to combine thousands of pdf files, but didn't want their bookmarks to fall under their individual filenames in the resulting bookmark hierarchy. That's how Adobe handles it when combining pdfs, and there's *no* option to turn it off (only to turn off bookmark creation entirely) - the only fix is to write javascript to fix the resulting combined bookmarks. But MergePDF came to the rescue - it provided an intuitive interface and did t…

Simple to use

I found this while looking for a solution to Image Capture's inability to scan multiple pages into one pdf file (flat bed scanners). Just drop the individual pdf's onto the icon in the Dock, app opens, check order, merge all and you are done. There are several ways to use this app and the interface is simple.

Preserves bookmarks

I’ve tried at least two or three other apps for merging files and none of them would preserve the bookmarks (i.e. table of contents). That’s a real drag when you spend a fair amount of time bookmarking a pdf. This app combines the files AND preserves the bookmarks. Well worth the $2.

SImple and robust

If all your looking to do is merge PDF files, then this tools is simple to use. A key attribute is that it preserves important meta data such as internal links. That is not true of another tool that I tried.

Simple, fast, good interface

I am a researcher that has to merge many PDF scans of documents into larger files every day. This app is much better than other apps or online options that I have tried. Great job.
